Perodua’s spacious new Kenari mini MPV makes its European debut at this year’s NEC Motor Show with design sophistication and equipment levels to rival the best in the world. Alongside Kenari is the 2001 specification Nippa city car, which continues to offer unparalleled value for money.
Kenari introduces a new dimension in space utilisation with the versatility of a tall and accommodating body style, married to a full five-door hatchback capability.
Leading levels of interior space – 20 per cent more than a conventional hatchback – are matched to an equally high standard specification that includes driver and passenger airbags, side impact protection, power-assisted steering, electrically operated windows, central locking, an immobiliser, reclining/folding rear seats and a radio/CD/cassette player with removable front panel.
Kenari is powered by a 989cc, three-cylinder, twin-camshaft engine featuring four-valves per cylinder and developing 55PS. The engine is both efficient and clean, boasting a Combined fuel consumption figure of 50.4mpg and CO2 emissions of just 136g/km.
Kenari is a real alternative to the established players in the mini MPV sector and is being offered at the highly competitive price of £5,800, (plus £125 road fund licence and first registration fee).
Kenari goes on sale in Perodua dealer showrooms from November and will be available with a choice of five-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission, the latter at additional cost.
