The Colt Car Company says the new service will benefit customers and dealers by freeing up the workshop time and space currently used to fit options and accessories.
Instead, they will now be fitted at the Mitsubishi pre-delivery inspection facility at Royal Portbury Dock near Bristol.
Colt says the new strategy will give customers a more efficient and competitive service with consistent pricing and, in most cases, reduced delivery times.
The company says that its dealers have welcomed the change as it reduces the load on their own facilities, especially at times of peak activity, such as change of registration and new year sales.
Mitsubishi dealers are, however, able to opt out of the scheme if circumstances dictate it is beneficial to fit accessories on their own premises.
