MG Rover Group has today announced that it has awarded its Roadside Assistance contract to AA Business Services with effect from January 1, 2001.

The AA won the business through a competitive tendering process and the outcome re-establishes a relationship that extends over 22 years.

Jim Lynch, MG Rover Group’s after sales director, said: “We are delighted to be working again with the AA, who like ourselves have undergone significant changes in recent years. The creation of our new company has given us the opportunity to review our roadside assistance needs, and the AA with its 3,600 patrols in the UK will provide us with the ideal infrastructure to provide the best possible service to MG and Rover owners. Equally the breadth of services offered by the AA will allow us to be more innovative in the way that we support our customers.”

The AA was recently ranked the best roadside assistance provider in the coveted JD Power survey and they have been awarded many industry accolades in recent months. Their commitment to the provision of quality customer service is perfectly aligned to the aspirations of MG and Rover brands.

“The AA is delighted to be working with MG Rover Group,” said Nick Bravery, director of AA home and road services. “Our associations go back a long way, and we can once again give MG and Rover car owners the reassurance of having the UK’s largest breakdown rescue organisation at their service.”
