Jaguar Land Rover has reported June retail sales of 39,602 vehicles, in line with prior year volume.
During the first half of 2015, Tata Motors’ luxury vehicle unit sold 239,212 vehicles, with volume also flat.
YTD growth was 18% in the UK, 16% in Europe and 15% in North America, with ‘overseas’ down 11%. Sales in China were down 27% due to softening market conditions and production ramping up for the locally produced Range Rover Evoque.
Land Rover sold 32,447 vehicles in June, up 1%. Calendar year to date sales rose 3% to 201,713.
Jaguar June sales slipped 6% to 7,155 units. Calendar year to date sales were down 14% to 37,499 vehicles.
JLR said this expected change was due largely to the run out of the XF ahead of 2016 XF and XJ launches planned from autumn 2015.
