In response to criticism from the industry that UK government financial assistance for the automotive sector has been slow to roll out, the government has held a seminar to help companies apply for available assistance.


Business Minister Ian Pearson met key people from manufacturers and supply chain in the automotive sector today to explain what they need to do in order to apply to the ‘Automotive Assistance Programme’.


The UK government’s GBP2.3 billion scheme to facilitate loan and loan guarantees has now had clearance from the European Commission and is welcoming applications.


It applies to the UK automotive sector and supply chain with a turnover of more than GBP25 million.
