Ford is investing £10 million ($US14 million) in its Leamington Spa foundry in the English Midlands and has announced that the facility will produce brake castings for a new generation of vehicles.

The £10 million will pay for a new moulding line and renewal of foundry equipment including melting, moulding and fettling machinery.

The Leamington foundry produces solid and ventilated brake discs, brake drums and flywheels for the Ford car range in Europe. It employs 450 people and has been in operation since 1940.
