Ford has recalled 78,500 Ka models built in Valencia in the first half of 2001 because of a possible brake defect, Reuters reported.
“We have recalled for review 78,500 of the Ka models because we can’t rule out that, under extreme conditions, they could leak brake fluid,” a company spokesman in Spain told Reuters, adding that 5,000 were sold in Spain.
A spokesman for Ford in London told Reuters that around 30,000 Kas in the recall, which had been going on for some weeks, were in Britain, adding that the problem was a loose clip on a brake hose, which could have led to brake fluid leaking.
