With petrol prices continuing to rise, UK motorists are set to face another problem – how to know the actual price of their fuel.

Most machines in the UK have a three-digit display, one digit coming after the decimal point. The maximum reading these machines can display is therefore 99.9p per litre.

However, as the possibility of fuel hitting the £1 per litre mark looms ever closer, UK drivers are bracing themselves for an increase in fuel prices to subsidise the cost of converting these machines, set to run into millions of pounds.
