September home market car production in the UK of 47,716 was 990 units or 2.1% higher than in September 2003.
Production for export reached 107,605 cars, 786 more than a year ago.
Commercial vehicle production rose 27% from 17,107 in September 2003 to 21,722 in September 2004.
Home market production rose 477 units to 8,384, a rise of 6%.
Export production rose 45% to 13,338 units.
