Another Cadillac is soon to become available with right-hand drive.

The US-built CTS goes on sale here in the UK on 1 September with a choice of 2.8-litre 211ps V6 petrol (GBP26,995/US$53,300) and new 311ps 3.6-litre direct injection V6 petrol engines (£32,995/$65,200)

Both models have a six-speed automatic transmission with a floor selector, the larger engine also has paddle shift manual-select controls. A 2.9-litre V6 diesel arrives next year.

The rear-wheel drive sport saloon models come with traction control and a limited slip differential, and feature a single premium ‘sport luxury’ trim level with claimed class-leading standard equipment.

The options list is consequently limited to metallic or premium metallic exterior paint finish, electric sunroof and a special wood interior trim.

“The launch of the right-hand drive CTS marks a major step forward for the Cadillac brand in the UK,” said Jonathan Nash, director in charge, Cadillac UK.

“We believe the focus on dramatic design, craftsmanship and the class leading technologies will ensure the CTS is a desirable, exclusive alternative in today’s premium car market.”
Equipment includes bi-xenon high-intensity headlights with adaptive forward lighting, automatic wipers, rear park assist, leather seat, dashboard and door trim,  heated eight-way power front seats with memory, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, electric park brake and ambient interior lighting.

The infotainment system includes a fully retractable multi-function eight-inch touch-screen VGA display, 300 watt, 10-speaker Bose 5.1 surround sound  with iPod integration, 40Gb hard drive, MP3 CD player, DVD player and TV tuner.

Hard disk drive navigation is also included.

Cadillac is also expected to sell the RHD CTS in Japan, South Africa and Australia.
