Toyo Tire is to establish a new R&D centre, the first European technology development site, in Willich, North Rhine-Westphalia.

The centre is planned to start this autumn, strengthening product development and meaning Toyo will have technology sites in the US, Japan and Europe.

Toyo also announced on 30 July it will build a tyre plant in Serbia, starting production from January, 2022.

In conjunction with the start of fully-fledged operations at the new plant in Serbia, Toyo will enhance its foundation for various types of technology in the tyre compounding, production methods, assessment and simulation technology.

Toyo to start its study of future expansion of its R&D function in Europe beyond this site.

Toyo Tire is supplying for the European and Russian market from factories in Japan and Malaysia.
