Test World says it will soon start preparations for a full programme of winter tyre and vehicle evaluation, as the first snowfall of the season signals the onset of winter.

Located 300km north of the Arctic Circle, Test World’s outdoor facilities include 20km of maintained tracks at its Airport Proving Ground and 80km at its Mellatracks Proving Ground.

Wet and dry brake testing can be undertaken throughout winter on the indoor asphalt tracks, including with studded tyres. Control can be achieved on Test World’s indoor ice tracks due to its highly repeatable conditions, which will become more critical with the proposed new EU ice labelling.

Test World added it continued to operate safely during the COVID-19 pandemic this summer.

“We are delighted to once again be preparing for a full winter season of tyre and vehicle testing at Test World,” said MD, Janne Seurujärvi.

“We are proud to have remained operational throughout a difficult period for the industry and are now looking forward to supporting our customers with our full spectrum of leading tracks and facilities.”

Test World has arranged with local authorities for customers to obtain a test on arrival with same-day results, minimising the need for any quarantine.
