SKF has signed a three-year agreement with MAN for the supply of truck-matched wheel-end units.

The deal is worth SEK60m (US$7m) and follows the signing of an agreement for similar units with Scania in October last year.

Deliveries to both MAN and Scania are scheduled to commence in September 2015.

Stephane Le Mounier, President, Automotive Market, says, “This agreement further extends our relationship with Volkswagen Group’s heavy trucks segment,” said SKF automotive market president, Stephane Le Mounier.

“It also illustrates our solutions directly benefit both truck manufacturers and end-users, in particular in contributing to synergies between MAN and Scania.”

SKF says truck-matched wheel-end units are quicker to assemble and provide a lower total cost of ownership, through extended maintenance intervals, compared to using standard tapered roller bearings.
