India’s Tata Motors – parent of Jaguar Land Rover – is in talks to source vehicle components from LG group with reports saying high level talks took place in recent weeks.

The South Korean electronics giant is a major global supplier of lithium-ion batteries, fuelling speculation that Tata is considering moving into the electric vehicle segment.

Last year, LG brought all its automotive-related businesses, including electronics parts and infotainment, into a single division called LG Vehicle Components (VC), indicating that the group is adopting a more focused strategy for the automotive industry.
