Bankrupt Korean SUV maker Ssangyong Motor has reported a net loss of 265.6bn won and operating loss of 125.6bn won on revenue of 233.7bn won for the first quarter of 2009.


A year ago its Q1 net loss was 34.2bn won, operating loss 27.6bn and revenue 677.6bn won.


Earlier this month, a South Korean court said it had received an assessment that the cash-strapped company, owned by China’s SAIC Motor, had the potential to be rescued after it accepted Ssangyong’s bankruptcy protection filing, a Reuters report noted.
