South Korea’s Hyundai Mobis plans to spend EUR95m on a new car lighting factory in Ostrava in the Czech Republic.
An agreement is expected to be signed with the Czech government by 29 July and completion of the plant is scheduled for 2017.
This will be Hyundai Mobis’ second plant in the country, with a facility already in operation in Nosovice with a capacity to produce 300,000 front end modules per year.
The new facility will have the capacity to produce 750,000 sets of headlamps and rear lights per year, which will be supplied to Hyundai, Kia and other Europe-based vehicle manufacturers.
