Hyundai Mobis has said it has started production at its new headlamp plant.

Hyundai Mobis spent 70 billion won to complete the plant in the city of Gimcheon, 234 kilometers southeast of Seoul, the company said in a statement.
With the new plant, Hyundai Mobis aims to generate 150 billion won in sales of headlamps in 2012, according to the statement.
Last month, Hyundai Mobis announced an alliance with Samsung LED Co., a unit of Samsung Group, to jointly develop headlamps using light-emitting diodes as a light source.
