Honda is exhibiting a range of advanced powertrain technologies at Auto Shanghai, which it says are suggestions for sustainable mobility in the Chinese automotive industry.

In addition to the Civic Hybrid, which has just gone on sale in the country, it is showing the fuel-cell FCX Concept, combined with Honda’s experimental Home Energy Station, which would provide hydrogen home refuelling, as well as heat and electricity for the home itself.

Also on Honda’s stand is a flexible fuel version of the Fit that can run on 100% ethanol or a range of ethanol-gasoline fuel mixtures. This car has been on sale in Brazil since the end of 2006.

The Acura stand has the MDX, which went on sale on 13 April, as well as the RL and TL, and the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept, a design for the next generation sports car to succeed the NSX.
