Humax, better known for set top TV boxes, is expanding into EV charging with a home charger range in Europe.

It is already offering EV charging in South Korea.

It will launch a smart charger under the brand name Ecord which can be operated via an app which monitors charging conditions and can upgrade software OTA.

The charger complies with UK government edicts for random delay and off peak charging and also offer solar charging and load balancing functions if needed.

The company will contract installers and initially offer EV charging via a website in the UK but operate through local sales and distribution networks in Germany.

Commercial grade chargers will follow.
