Russia’s vehicle output fell 65.2% to 143,953 units in the first quarter according to ASM Holding.
Of the total, car output fell 62.7% to 123,342 units in the period, while truck output fell 75.9% to 15,962 units.
Russia’s vehicle output amounted to 1.725 million units in 2008, including 1.468 million cars and 257,500 trucks, ASM Holding said earlier.
Since the start of the year several car factories in Russia have temporarily suspended production over rising prices for auto parts and other supplies and declining sales amid the financial crisis.
