Toyota Motors Manufacturing Russia plans to suspend production at its plant in the city of St. Petersburg from March 30 through April 6 due to the ongoing financial crisis, the company said in a statement.

The plant has over 750 employees. Workers will receive two-thirds of their usual wages during the suspension.

Japanese car maker Toyota currently produces Camry cars at the plant, which was launched in December 2007.

Russia’s car market in February was 38% down on last year as the recession hit demand.
