Toyota has said it will suspend production at its Russian plant in St Petersburg from May 1 through May 11 due to ‘unstable market conditions’.

The plant will resume operations on May 12.

Employees will receive two-thirds of their usual wages during the suspension period.

Toyota briefly suspended production at its Russian plant at the end of March due to the ongoing economic slowdown.

Toyota currently produces Camry cars at the plant, which was launched in December 2007.
