Romania, home to Ford’s B-Max assembly plant and associated suppliers, had 5.98m vehicles on local roads in 2013, up about 5% year on year, romania-insider.com reported, citing data from the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV).
About 4.6m were passenger cars.
Around 2.8m cars in Romania’s fleet were older than 12 years, while about 1.2m were aged nine to 12 years.
Over 1.4m cars were between five and eight years old with approximately 421,000 newer than five years, according to the DRPCIV data.
The number of motorcycles in the national fleet decreased year on year, to some 25,200 units in 2013, the report added.
