Renault UK and Ireland communications director, Jeremy Townsend is to leave the company with immediate effect to pursue an unspecified new opportunity within the automotive industry.
Townsend has been with Renault for more than twenty years, having joined in March, 1997. During that time, he held a variety of sales and marketing roles before moving into the Press Office in 2007; first as press relations manager and then, from 2011, as communications director.
“Jeremy was instrumental in the successful launch of many generations of new Renault, Dacia and Alpine models during his time with the company,” said Renault UK and Ireland MD, Vincent Tourette.
“His passion for these brands, and the wider automotive industry, will, I’m sure, have been known to many. I would like to thank him on behalf of Groupe Renault UK and Ireland for his immense contribution during his time here and wish him well for the future.”
The French manufacturer added an announcement will be made in due course about a replacement.
In the interim, Renault UK and Ireland press relations manager, Matthew Bendall, will oversee all Press and PR activities.
