Francois Wales is to take over from Bruno Famin as Peugeot Sport director, who is joining the FIA’s Office of the secretary general for Motor Sport as director of operations.
In the course of the past year, Wales has been responsible for the development of vehicles for PSA Motorsport customers, as well as the Peugeot Sport Engineered range of electrified sports cars, the first of which, the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered concept car, was unveiled earlier this year in Geneva.
A graduate of SUPELEC (L’École Supérieure d’Électricité), Wales has worked for PSA since 1989, holding positions as a Project and Engineering manager in France, China and Spain.
At the beginning of 2018, he moved to PSA Motorsport as manager of the Customer Competition Vehicles Department where his missions included the development of both the new PSE range and the 208 R2.
“In the past year, we have started to develop a new, broad range of high-performance, low-emission electrified sports cars for the Peugeot brand, as well as a new 208 R2 for our motorsport customers,” said Wales.
