An agreement has been signed following a few month-long negotiations between the local authorities of Jaroslaw and the US Lear Corporation Poland under which the company will open a plant on the site of the Jarlan textile factory, Jaroslaw mayor Janusz Dabrowski told PAP on Thursday.

As of May the new plant will produce upholstery parts for car seats and other automotive equipment.

According to unofficial information obtained by PAP, Lear Corporation Poland will lease 8,000-square-metre production rooms in the Jarlan plant that have been taken over by the town for the plant debt.

The plant will start recruitment procedures in April. The planned employment is to reach 500 people.

Lear Corporation Poland has two plants in Tychy (manufacturing car seats and bumpers) and a Lear Automotive plant in Mielec.
