Bloomberg reports that Polish new car sales fell 15 percent over year-ago levels in February, the slowest decline in 21 months. The report says that carmakers cut prices to attract buyers amid weak demand.
The article quotes as source MW Drzewieccy Samar, and says that Poles bought 25,055 new cars in February, compared with 29,553 in the same month last year.
Bloomberg adds that car dealers are still trying to sell 2001 models, offering discounts of as much as 10 percent.
Car sales in Poland fell by around a third last year as economic growth slowed and the cost of borrowing increased.
