The Peugeot 2008 Concept, a prototype of a forthcoming small crossover, is set to have its global debut at the Paris motor show.
PSA has been developing a rival for the Nissan Juke, Opel-Vauxhall Mokka, Škoda Yeti and Ford EcoSport under the A94 codename. An earlier preview of the model was seen at the Beijing motor show earlier this year in the form of the Urban Crossover Concept.
The 2008 Concept is understood to use PSA’s PF1 platform, the same architecture as the Peugeot 208. The company notes that the production model will be launched in 2013, with build at three plants: Mulhouse (France), Wuhan (China) and Porto Real (Brazil).
Powering the concept is a direct injection, turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine which PSA says produces 110bhp. This three-cylinder unit is soon to be added to several of the firm’s small cars.
