Rover Group today (August 25) confirmed its intention to introduce its Rover and MG products into the South African and Australian markets.

David Sharples, recently appointed Director International Markets, has confirmed that Norway, ironically the home of the Vikings, is the first new importer market to open under new management at Rover Group, with Sweden expected to follow shortly.

Sales growth this year is up in the UK by 8.3% and for the first half year France is up by 20%, Switzerland up by 25%, Spain up by 27% and Greece is up by 30%. Austria is up by 67% and Belgium by 78%.

John Parkinson, Sales and Marketing Director, commented: “With sales performance in most markets growing significantly and with our new product portfolio, we are now looking to expand our business into new markets around the world. New Rover and MG products will be launched into South Africa and Australia, both markets with considerable potential.”
