Kongsberg Automotive says it has secured a contract to deliver seat heating technology to a European OEM between 2013 and 2021 in a deal estimated to be worth EUR16m (US$20.7m) for its duration.

The seat heat systems will be produced in Poland but are to be installed in car models targeted mainly for the Russian market. Start of production will be in March, next year at Kongsberg’s facilities in Pruszków, Poland.

“The Russian market is becoming increasingly attractive as we’re now starting to see a trend where global suppliers with a strong focus on technology and quality can win market share,” said Kongsberg Automotive global sales director, Jorgen Morland.

“We’re well positioned for growth with our portfolio and production set-up.”
