Audi will not put its four ring logo on its new electric cars in China, Reuters reported, citing two sources.

The decision was made due to ‘brand image consideration’, one source said.

The EVs would also reportedly use automotive architecture co-developed by VW Chinese partner SAIC.

The new series is codenamed Purple, according to Reuters.

It was unclear if the vehicles would have a different logo or would carry the name Audi.

Audi declined to comment to Reuters.
