Malaysia’s Tan Chong Motor has entered Myanmar’s aftermarket sector after investing in a 90% stake in E-Garage Auto Services and Spare Parts (Myanmar) Co.
The company next year will open the first of what eventually is expected to be a network of vehicle service centres in the country.
Tan Chong has increased its focus on South-east Asia’s second-tier of emerging automotive markets in recent years, with investments in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
