General Motors of Mexico registered sales – including cars and trucks – for the period January-September 2000 totalling 153,121 units, accounting for 24.8 per cent of vehicle sales in Mexico, says El Financiero/Infolatina (17/10/00).

For the month of September, the company sold 18,797 vehicles – up 42 per cent for the same period from a year ago – accounting for 26.1 per cent of all vehicle sales for the month.

The 24.8 per cent market share is five per cent higher than its nearest rival. For the January-September period, GM sales exceeded those of its nearest competitor by 30,000, according to local reports.
