Last week saw the first safety belts produced under the joint venture between Delphi Automotive Systems and Ashimori Industry Co. following a trial run at Delphi’s Rimir plant in Mexico, writes El Financiero/Infolatina (17/10/00).
The joint venture – with Delphi holding a 51 per cent stake – aims to supply safety belts to both the US and other export markets.

According to the local reports, this venture complements the production facilities of both companies, with safety belts adding to the existing product portfolio that includes airbags, steering wheels and electronic components.
