Sales of Mexican autoparts companies for the month of October were down 30 per
cent for the same period from a year ago, writes El Economista/Infolatina, citing
Guadalajara Metal Industries Chamber’s former President Carlos Tanaka Mora.
Quoting Tanaka, the Mexican reports said that companies have been forced to
cut staff due to the decrease in sales, with the slump likely to last for five
months.
A reduction in export sales to the US – the main buyer of Mexican-made autoparts
– is to blame for the decline, said Tanaka.
