Maruti Suzuki India has posted a standalone net profit of Rs33.52bn ($351.9m) for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 down from Rs37.58bn in the same period last year.
The decline came even as net sales climbed 36% to Rs499.59bn.

Revenue from operations for the three months totalled Rs524.55bn, up from Rs385.93bn a year earlier.
Total expenses rose in tandem, reaching Rs499.88bn against Rs355.74bn previously.
The cost of materials consumed was the single largest contributor to this increase, climbing to Rs320.13bn from Rs219.36bn over the same period.
Basic and diluted earnings per share stood at Rs106.62, down from Rs119.53 in the year-ago quarter.
On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations came to Rs524.69bn, with net profit attributable to owners of the company at Rs34.46bn.
This compares with consolidated figures of Rs386.05bn in revenue and Rs37.92bn in net profit for Q1 FY26.
Overall sales volume for the quarter rose 29.3% year-on-year.
Domestic sales of small cars increased 34.1%, SUV sales climbed 44.6%, and exports grew 28.6%.
In a separate development, the carmaker’s board has approved four compressed biogas (CBG) manufacturing projects under the first phase of a new initiative, carrying a combined outlay of Rs5.61bn.
The board indicated that any further expansion of CBG manufacturing capacity would depend on how these initial projects perform.
Maruti Suzuki also launched the Wagon R FFV in June, the first Suzuki model designed to run on any blend of ethanol and petrol.
The vehicle forms part of a broader powertrain diversification push at Suzuki, which also encompasses hybrid, battery electric, compressed natural gas and compressed biogas technologies alongside flex-fuel options.
Separately, the company began commercial production last month at Plant D within its Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, taking the site’s annual production capacity to one million vehicles – the first Suzuki manufacturing location worldwide to reach that milestone.
