
Geely-owned Lotus has unveiled its first ‘hyper-GT’, the Emeya, in New York.
Production is scheduled to start in 2024 at Geely’s Wuhan factory.
The company says top specification model for Emeya features Lotus’ high-power dual motor set-up that delivers a top speed of more than 155mph (250km/h) and can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in under 2.8 seconds.
The Emeya also claims to have advanced charging capabilities, adding 93 miles (150km) of range with approximately five minutes of charge using a 350kW DC fast charger.
Feng Qingfeng, CEO, Lotus Group said: “Bringing together our rich heritage with intelligent performance and the latest cutting-edge technologies, we’re pushing the boundaries for how a luxury electric vehicle should look and handle– making it truly for the drivers.”
Emeya joins as a flagship model in Lotus’ line-up of luxury lifestyle electric vehicles, which the company says is part of its vision to become a global performance brand by 2028.

By GlobalDataEarlier this year, Lotus celebrated its 75th anniversary at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by showing off its four-cylinder Emira in a world debut.
The sportscar maker claimed a “world breaking” Q1 2023 after production rose 381% to 2,200 Emiras, for which it says has a two year backlog.
Lotus also recently opened a new flagship store in London. In an interview with Just Auto, Niels de Gruijter, executive director, Lotus Cars Europe, said: “We have an amazing future in front of us.”
The Emeya joins Lotus’ all-electric line up, including the Emira – the most powerful Lotus sports car to date – the Electre SUV and all-electric hypercar the Evija.
