Year to date sales in Lithuania were down 69% to 5,980 new cars at the end of August, market research company Autotyrimai reported.
Citing data from state car registration company Regitra, it said August sales alone were off 63% year on year to 565 units.
New cars registered for personal use fell 35% to 530 units while new light commercial vehicle registrations plummeted 75% to 35 units.
Toyota topped the August market with 77 units followed by Renault (69) and Peugeot (41).
Toyota’s luxury unit Lexus placed first in the premium car segment with 20 units.
