Tata Motors controlled Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) plans to recruit 300 technicians and engineers in the West Midlands, England, for Range Rover production and development of new BEVs.

One hundred maintenance technicians would be hired for the Solihull plant to operate automated production facilities in a new GBP130m body shop. JLR said was expected to increase production by 30%.

Technicians would receive training to work on a GBP70 million body production system for the new electric Range Rover at Solihull.

Two hundred technicians and test engineers would be recruited for positions at the Gaydon engineering centre and Whitley powertrain facility to focus on testing and developing EVs.

All recruits would undergo electrification training as part of a future skills programme.

JLR has planned to invest GBP15bn over five years in production, vehicle programmes, and technology, including re-equipping factories for EV production.
