Suzuki has received government go-ahead to road test a new fuel cell-powered vehicle.

A news agency report said the five-seat car, developed with General Motors, is based on Suzuki’s SX4 model and features a GM-made high-performance fuel cell and a compact Suzuki capacitor designed to improve its fuel economy and acceleration.
It can achieve a maximum speed of 150km/h (about 90mph) and run 250km (about 130 miles) on a single fill of hydrogen.
The report added that Suzuki and GM have jointly developed fuel-cell versions of three minivehicle models since 2001.
