Japanese vehicle production rose 1.0% in September from a year earlier to 974,104 vehicles, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said on Wednesday.

According to a Reuters report, production in January-September was up 2.1% from the same period last year at 8,064,010 units.
Output for the April-September first half of the 2005/06 business year rose 1.2% to 5,188,708 units.
