Mazda Motor Corporation’s new wholly-owned sales network in Turkey is completing its first month of operation.
The automaker transferred responsibility for Turkey to Mazda Motor Europe (MME) in 2007 and the new national sales company (NSC) was established last September.
Operations beagan in Istanbul in early June when the company was officially established as Mazda Motor Logistics Europe NV Merkezi Belçika Türkiye Istanbul Subesi with Steve Newton as managing director. The news distributor has 10 employees and 22 sales outlets.
Mazda plans eventually to own all of its distribution subsidiaries across Europe. With 21 national sales companies doing business in 39 countries, it now controls over 90% of its sales volume on the continent.
