Honda will increase monthly output of its Fit/Jazz small hatchback in order to meet strong domestic and export demand for the vehicle, according to an AutoAsia online report.

The company will move to a monthly build rate of 25,000 units, up from the current 20,000 units per month.

The report says that the extra cars will be churned out at the firm’s Suzuka plant and should be in effect by mid-April.

AutoAsia adds that Honda is retooling its Suzuka and Sayama plants so that each can simultaneously build eight models and handle rapid changes to production mix.
