Labour organisations representing workers of the major auto manufacturers presented their annual list of benefit and wage demands Wednesday to management.

The Confederation of Japan Automobile Workers Unions has left the wage increase guideline for Spring 2001’s labour campaign unchanged from the previous year, with regular pay increases at 2 percent, based on seniority and other factors, and a uniform 2,000 yen general pay hike.

This wage increase represents a monthly average rise of 8,300 yen for 12 member unions.
