It is equipped with PlusDrive, enhanced driver-assist software based on automated truck developer Plus’s open autonomy platform.
Testing and public road data collection was carried out prior to the S-Way being greenlighted for use on Germany’s roads.
Further testing will be carried out in the country over the next few months, with plans to expand to Austria, France and Italy.
Iveco says it is expected the testing will demonstrate how PlusDrive can handle driver-supervised manoeuvres such as lane centering and nudging.
