Take your Ferrari to a European dealer for a fix and drive out in a Fiat 500.

That’s the deal for some now the iconic sports car maker has chosen the tiny Fiat as its “courtesy car”.

These are not entry-level fleet specials, though, 200 hundred Sport version-based models have been built to order for the Ferrari sales network in Europe.

Of course, they are all red, and have the 100bhp 1.4-litre engine specially tuned and exhausted by Fiat Group parts maker Magneti Marelli. Other features include red brake calipers, sporty pedals, special black steering wheel with red stitching and 16” alloy wheels with 195/45 tyres.

Automatic climate control, electric sunroof, Frau leather interior, high-spec hi-fi, fog lights, numbered plate on the dashboard and ‘limited edition’ etched into kick plates are intended to prevent Ferrari owners from being miffed at being shoe-horned in to a tiny Fiat while their pride and joy is fettled.

Launched a year ago, the retro-look revived 500 has now attracted around 220,000 orders.
