Fiat Auto plans to lay off about 5,800 workers at its Mirafiori plant in Turin from December 27 until January 9, a company source told Reuters.
It was the latest in a series of such temporary layoffs by the automaker, which is trying to bring production into line with weak demand to counter deep losses, the news agency noted.
