Fiat has launched its 900cc ‘TwinAir’ two cylinder 85hp engine which will be available from September in the 500 line. The original 500 had a rear mounted, air-cooled ‘twin’.
The first of a new family of two-cylinder engines made by FPT – Fiat Powertrain Technologies, the new motor uses Fiat’s MultiAir system for a new family of 65 to 105hp engines claimed to emit 43% less CO2 than engines of equal performance.
