Fiat vehicle unit sales in April in Italy should be higher compared to 2008 and will definitely be up in Germany, brand head Lorenzo Sistino said on Thursday.
Speaking to Reuters at an event about cars that run on methane, he said Fiat aimed to sell more than 120,000 methane cars in Italy in 2009 compared with 68,000 last year.
“Thanks to government incentives, this kind of car is becoming more and more popular,” he said.
Fiat’s Brazilian unit recently developed its own line of flexfuel engines which run on any combination of petrol or ethanol.
