The Hindu newspaper reports that Tata Motors Limited has announced the launch of a new range of its SUV, the Tata Safari, in Hyderabad.


The report says it is equipped with an indigenously developed 3-litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine.


The new engine has a power output of 115 PS at 3,000 RPM and delivers a torque of 300 NM at 1,600 to 2,000 RPMs.


Available in three trim levels as well as 4X2 and 4X4 versions, the Safari DICOR is priced between Rs. 7.71 lakhs and Rs. 12.58 lakhs ex-showroom in Hyderabad, according to a press release.
